    Hi everyone,a client of mine has an MS Surface laptop. The user said that he walked away from the pc for a few minutes and came back to a black screen with only the cursor present. Restarts, shutdowns do nothing. If i login to the admin account on the same machine it works normally. Ive googled and youtubed the issue, a lot of the solutions include editing things in regedit. Thing is i cant access it. If i use ctrl shift + esc the task manager pops up and instantly freezed. If i use ctrl alt delete and then start task manager it opens up. I then try to open regedit via run task and it throttle

    • Were you able to get to the desktop screen after you restarted the system?
    • When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
    • Did you get any error code or error message?

    Please get back to us with answers to above questions, for us to suggest the appropriate troubleshooting steps.

    So this is not a BSOD ? Have a Windows 10 disc or USB Flash Drive made ? How are you getting to task manager Ctrl.+Alt+Del ? Any cursor on screen ?
