Windows 10: MS Update KB4515384

Seems like this latest update really messed up a lot of things. Windows Media Player doesn't store ripped music correctly, File Explorer does not retain specific columns when viewing music folders and songs such as the "bit rate". Must I select "Bit Rate" every time I want to see that column? Seems to me like that setting should "stick" without going through the motions again after File Explorer is closed. Sound problems for games is a known problem, and my monitor blanks out after about 2 minutes on idle even though the power configuration is set for 15 minutes. Resetting the Power Configuration seems like an excessive exercise. Just give us a registry fix as a possible alternative! Also, even prior to this update, with a system level Proxy, there is no access to the MS Store without disabling the proxy. Nor can the Feedback Hub be accessed. Sorry but I am not giving up my proxy.

After 2 days of trying everything possible, I found out that the update KB4515384 has obviously been installed, although it was detected as an update and Windows 10 tried to install it more or less
continuously.

First I tried to de-install all updates prior to KB4515384 as well as KB4515384 itself but this approach failed. After that I recovered with Acronis the version a couple of days prior to the patch day. This version was stable and worked without problems.
There were no updates available before the patch day. After recovering, I started the automatic update and the same happened as before:

Windows says that the update KB4515384, which was not included in my recovery version, could not be installed, although it is included in the installation list as all other new updates.

This indicates that there is an update problem. What else can I do? Actually NOTHING! I have stopped the update till October in the hope that Microsoft gets aware of this problem.

May be it is not a good idea forcing customers to install several times a year a new, not fully tested OS.

Update KB4515384 fails with error 0xe0000003; Windows Pro 64 bit latest update status except KB4515384.

The problem is that I can nowhere find this message.

Update KB4515384 fails

I regret to say that I have tried more than ten times to install KB4515384 following more or less all recommendation from the internet.

Unfortunately, I got every time the unspecific answer "Update failed". The only specific information is the error number
0xe0000003. This is rather poor and completely unexpected compared with previous Windows 10 updates. Such an update failure makes Windows 10 more or less unusable (for days, months or forever?). Nobody from Microsoft can expect from a Windows
10 user to spend days with cryptic recommendations.

It seems to me that the Update KB4515384 needs a critical and very detailed review!
