Windows 10: MS WIN 10 Security Updates

I am unable to update MS win 10 on my PC desktop. I using a metered connection, but even though I change to un-metered win 10 fails to update. My PC originally came with WIN 8.2.1. which I updated a few years back. I am not sure what version of ms win 10. I am running, I believe my last update was KB4054022??? When trying to update I receive a msg from MS saying: "MS can't install important security updates on your PC until you install most current version of Win 10". How do I bring this up to date? Is there software I need to purchase? I am afraid to use my PC desktop without the necessary updates. I am currently using my laptop and would like to be able to use my desktop again. The Ultimate Realtek HD Audio Driver Mod for Windows 10

Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.
