    MSDisplay Adapter Connection Issues since latest firmware update 2.0.8381


    Windows 10

    Graphics Chipset
    AMD Radeon(TM) R5 Graphics fully updated


    Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter - Powered from wall

    SHarp Roku TV with Adapter in HDMI Connection

    All of this has worked until today.


    Up until today when I updated firmware and computer everything worked fine. Laptop would display on TV and sound no issues for the last few months. Now no picture and when I run sound through it it crashes in less than a minute. Device isn't even 6 months old and no functional.


    I have run all updates and bug fixes, still no picture and crashes when sound. Connection holds until I run sound.

    MSDisplay Adapter not working with latest WIN 10 BUILD

    MSDisplay Adapter stopped working after Security Update 4048954. After UNINSTALL 4048954 my MSDisplay Adapter worked properly. Platform is Dell Laptop.

    Also, I can't find a way to stop the automatic upgrade of 4048954 after I uninstall it.

    MSDisplay Adapter not working with latest WIN 10 BUILD

    My MSDisplay Adapter stopped working with the latest WIN 10 BUILD. Had to restore to previous version of WIN 10 and problem went away.

    Current version is WIN 10 1703 Build 15063.671

    Sorry, not sure what latest version was that I to remove. I think it was the Fall Builders.

    Platform is Dell Laptop.

    Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

    We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:
    • New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
    • CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
    • Package change to Halide free package
    Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.
