Windows 10: MSFS 2020 asking for disc on installed system even with digital ownership file installed

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the digital ownership file and the problem persists. The system is up to date and is otherwise running well. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.* Moved from Bing

Missing Digital Ownership for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

What makes you think the issue is activation? Are you getting an activation message too?

"Known Issue: Some users seeing a "Please insert the Microsoft Flight Simulator disc" error when launching the game on Windows 10.

Workaround: In order to play the game digitally on Windows 10, you will need to have the Digital Ownership File installed as it is required to grant the necessary permissions to play. If you already have this file installed and are running in to this error,
please uninstall and reinstall this file only and this should resolve the issue. There is no need to uninstall the entire 127+GB base game files. Uninstalling this small 10MB file is all that will be needed. "

What's the name of the digital ownership file(s) for flight simulator 2020?

I've been told that I must delete, then re-install digital ownership file(s) to correct a problem with flight simulator (asks to insert disc, which I don't have because I purchased the digital downloads from the MS store). Can anyone tell me the name of
the file or files I must delete?

Installing downloaded version of MSFS 2020 over Game Pass for PC version

I have been using the Game Pass for PC version of MSFS 2020 Standard for the last month to try the new version of the game. I now wish to purchase, download and install the Premium Edition of MSFS 2020 to replace/overlay/convert the Game Pass version.

Are there any identified issues with performing this task? Will my existing logbook, graphics/other settings, liveries, cached files, etc. be retained? In other words, will the installation be seamless, keeping all my old data and simply require the "digital
key" to activate the software?
