Windows 10: msi.dll and AcLayers.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

Hi, this just started happening.


AcLayers.dll and msi.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f


Happened for no reason, I just updated to the latest version. I tried running the thing that checks system files for errors (forgot what it was called but it was through cmd.exe) and restarting my PC.

msvcp120.dll / msvcr120.dll is either not designed to run on Wondows or it contains an error.

After upgrading to windows 10 1903, error messages pop up at re-start or running certain software, saying " msvcp120.dll / msvcr120.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error..... Error status 0x000012f". Before upgrading (win10
1809), there was no such an error and everything was running smoothly without any issue. How to fix this problem?

I've just upgraded to Windows 10, but now when I try to open most Adobe programs an error like this shows.... "msvcp120.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error...". I've purchased dll file fixer, and it hasn't helped.

Since you are getting same error "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCR120.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error".

We suggest that you refer to this
thread as some customers are also having the same issue and try to check the suggested fix of Santosh_Rai.
