Why is Paint trying to access a documents folder? That I don't even use? I might have overlooked this if it was the "Pictures" folder I also never use, but it wasn't. I'm amazed that Defender even told me this happened. Makes me wonder what is he doing behind the scenes unreported.Need an answer. A public one. And no, I will not send any more information that you haven't already acquired. If not this screenshot will go elsewhere. I promise. And it will be just one part of a list. So many "odd" things happening since I disabled your AI forceware and signed out of my Microsoft account on

    :)

Here you are. This is the fileset you are looking for.
Put it in a new folder on your desktop, run the .exe inside the folder and it will extract the full MSPaint application. You can run it from within the folder, no need to install or replace anything. Even though it shows as a Win95 file it is functional in every O.S I've tried it in up to and including XP Pro. Surprised noone has suggested trying to upgrade to Vista.
    Good Luck,

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
