    Version: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit.

    Before I posted this, I did some extensive researching, even on this forum, and come to find out that it's almost impossible to open old MSWMM files in the current day using Windows 10. I have a bunch of movie projects saved in an old drive that I still would like to be able to access and use.

    Up until about three years ago it seems, you could still install Windows Movie Maker 6, and be able to use it in Windows 10 at the time. Last night I tried just that, but kept getting this error message (attached) when I opened the program, so obviously it's not compatible anymore.

    Any solutions to be able to open these files and use them again?

    Hello Brian,

    The file that is created in Microsoft Windows Movie Maker can't be opened at the Windows 10 media player due to compatibility issues. We suggest that you convert the .mswmm extension
    into an .avi extension to view them on Windows 10 media player. Kindly see this
