Multiple (duplicate) copies of d-link 921 router in 'Devices and Print

It looks like my d-link 921 router installs itself every time our computers connect to it for 3g/4g connectivity. I can remove them one by one in Devices and Printers but wow that is tedious. I haven't found a setting in the installation guide to prevent this from happening. Functionality of the router is not affected but Devices and Printers is a pain to use with hundreds of copies of the router. Any ideas of how to prevent the new installation at every connect?

    :)

  2. automatically adds duplicate printer copy

    Hello,

I have encountered an issue on Windows 10.

I have an older printer which works fine on initial setup. Prints and is set to default Multiple (duplicate) copies of d-link 921 router in 'Devices and Print :D

    • MY_BEST_Printer

The issue comes in when I unplug the USB cable and after some time plug, it back in it adds a new duplicate copy of the same printer.

    • MY_BEST_Printer (Copy 1)

This new duplicated printer is not set to default, so obviously, it does not send print file to the same queue pool and it does not get printed.

And if I keep plugging and unplugging it keeps adding new duplicates.

    • MY_BEST_Printer Default
    • MY_BEST_Printer (Copy 1)
    • MY_BEST_Printer (Copy 2)

Is there a way to stop Windows 10 from adding the same printer as a duplicate if it sees that it is the same printer?

D-Link's McAfee-Powered AC2600 Router Automatically Protects Connected Devices

D-Link and McAfee today announced the D-Link AC2600 Wi-Fi Router Powered by McAfee (DIR-2680), an all-in-one solution that automatically increases security for devices on the home network and delivers on both companies' vision to address the pressing need for online security as people's lives become increasingly connected. The comprehensive solution includes D-Link's high-performance dual-band 802.11ac router with MU-MIMO technology that enhances network capacity and efficiency for users, McAfee Secure Home Platform that automatically protects all devices connected to the network, and the Intel Home Wi-Fi Chipset WAV500 Series to deliver robust Wi-Fi connectivity to numerous connected devices at the same time, running a range of high-bandwidth applications.

The number of connected devices in the home has skyrocketed - from tablets and gaming consoles, to IP surveillance cameras, smart door locks, and more. By 2020, Gartner estimates there will be 20 billion connected things, and their role and influence is set to dramatically increase over the next 10 years1. They've also raised a new crop of security issues, as Internet of Things (IoT) devices are subject to attacks just like any other connected device like a PC or smartphone. The new D-Link AC2600 Wi-Fi Router Powered by McAfee immediately and automatically helps secure all connected devices at the network level in a home, including non-display IoT devices, providing an additional layer of protection from potential hackers and for members of the home using devices and accessing online content.
