Windows 10: Multiple Instances of 'Speakers (SndTAudio)'

Hi - when I look at my audio devices I can see 16 instances of 'Speakers SndTAudio' each of which is in "ready" status and five instances of AMD High Definition Audio Device (none of which are plugged in).

I only recently upgraded from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro and I have the ASUS Xonar Essence STX card installed and set as my default audio device.

I am not sure how these were installed but is there a way to remove them? I cannot disable the instances of 'Speakers SndTAudio' and then deselect the 'show disabled devices' option from the context menu. They won't disable although this worked for the AMD devices.

Hello,

Big windows 8 / 8.1 fan. Surface user and Windows phone user. Quick question. In WIndows 10, When i am working in an office app I often get distracted and end up back on my start menu. When I click on the office app from the start menu it opens up a
redundant version of that office app. I end up with 5 MS Outlook Inbox's up at any given time. Is this a setting?

 

Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices
Expand - Sound, video and game controllers.

I see 2 Audio devices, embedded and what appears to be a PCI card..

Edit: if you do have this card, you have so many Speakers because of the number of in/out channels the card has..

Yes, I have this card installed in a PCI slot. Clearly I'm not making the best use of this card if it has all these unused channels.

 

It is a high end card, overkill for most people and does do not do enough for producers..

Should be some kind of app to control that in Control Panel, if not here:
