Windows 10: "Multiple IRP Requests" (0X800040000) using Skype screen share

I've gotten 5 blue screen shutdowns in the last 2 weeks. As far as I can recall, all of them occurred while talking with someone on Skype, and using the screen sharing tool.

I tried finding a dump file for this in This PC/Windows/Minidump, but that folder is empty, and searching for other possible locations didn't turn up anything. My system has had problems in downloading diagnostic tools in the past, which have installed malware on my computer, so I don't have any diagnostic readout for this beyond what I've described (I can post the event viewer data if that's helpful, but it may not be).

The error that briefly pops up before it restarts refers to "Multiple IRP Requests," and my event viewer refers to event 41 with keyword 0X8000400000000002.

What I've tried to fix this: nothing so far, since I don't know what's causing it. From some research it seems like anything from an outdated driver to an improperly seated RAM or graphics card could be the culprit, but I don't know where to start in finding the cause.

I'm running Windows 10 with 8 GB of RAM, 64-bit, AMD A4-5000 processor (1.5 GHz), and the laptop itself (ASUS X552E) is about 4 years old.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I rely on Skype for business and so having it shut down during calls is causing significant problems.

Multiple IRP Request blue screen

Howdy,

Twice this month (once on 7/2 and again today, 7/24) I experienced a hard crash. The error screen noted "Multiple IRP Requests" as the culprit. Searching has lead me to believe this may be a driver issue?

MULTIPLE-IRP-COMPLETE-REQUESTS bsod on signin

I uninstalled all the various versions of java (jre as well as jdk) that had piled up in my computer using revo uninstaller. Then, (foolishly?) I installed the newest jdk without rebooting. when i rebooted my computer after the install, windows took a long
time to start up, and the sign in screen lagged. when i entered my pin, it bluescreened with code MULTIPLE-IRP-COMPLETE-REQUESTS.
I'm writing this in safe mode.

Stopcode: MULTIPLE IRP COMPLETE REQUESTS

I've been getting a few unusual blue screen errors in the last week with a Stopcode: MULTIPLE IRP COMPLETE REQUESTS.

It advises I go to microsoft.com for the fix. But there doesn't appear to show one.

Does anyone have any clues?

I am operating on Windows 10. And my laptop (Sony Vaio VPCEJ) is now much slower.

I've tried to do a System Restore but my laptop now says it can't do this as my PC was updated more than 10 days ago.

I'd be grateful for any advice before I leave it at a computer shop to be checked out.
