    multiple monitor desktop alignment

    Hello all,

To start off I'm hoping you're all having a lovely day and doing fine.

I have a new widescreen 3440*1440 Monitor that I would like to align with my older Ilama 1920*1080 monitor. The problem Is not a serious one but more of an aesthetics issue.

My new BenQ monitor is a 35 inch and the older Ilama is a 27 inch monitor. Basically they are the same height but with very different resolutions.

I love having beautiful panoramic desktop background pictures spanning my displays but sadly I cannot get them to align properly as the resolutions and dpi of the displays differ too much.

With the app Little Big Mouse I've been able to get the mouse pointer to slide over from one screen to the other seamlessly but if the option to resize a display would be added in the Windows Display settings I'm guessing my and many others need for this app would be gone all together.

I made a snipe and sketch to illustrate what feature I would like to see added to the Windows Display settings, or where you already planning to add this in the foreseeable future?

    Yours sincerely

    Ivor Zw

  2. Multiple monitor alignment

I have a 50" 4K UHD monitor (4096x2160) and a 28" 4K UHD (3880x2160). The 50" is treated as my primary monitor. and is in standard Landscape mode (4096x2160). The 28" is to the left and is in Portrait mode (2160x3880). Physically they are almost a perfect
    match in this layout.

The trouble comes when I wish to go between them using the mouse. From the Portrait mode monitor I cannot move to the Landscape one unless I move the mouse to 1/2 way down and then it moves to the Landscape monitor top.

My suggestion is simple. Have a check mark to scale the edges that touch, so that the Portrait mode 3880 to is scaled to 2160 for the Landscape monitor top, as far as mouse cross-over is concerned, and vice versa. This would align the visual to the physical
and make it easier to use.

    virtual desktop as multiple monitor

    Hello Dan,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Virtual desktops lets you create multiple, separate desktops that each can display different open windows and apps. Multiple desktops are great for quickly switching desktops. The idea of having multiple virtual desktops is being able to order programs
according to a set of tasks.

PC can’t have different virtual desktop on each monitor. However, we can
configure the taskbar for multiple displays to send windows from one monitor to another. We can customize Windows to have a taskbar shown on only one display, and a different taskbar on the other display. To do that, follow the below mentioned
    steps.

    • Right click on the taskbar and select
      Taskbar Settings
      .
    • Scroll down to Multiple displays section and choose
Taskbar where window is open under Show taskbar buttons on option.

By choosing that particular option in Settings, you can set its independent taskbar in addition to your primary display. Only the open windows are shown on the taskbar in that particular display.

As a workaround, we can create a new profile to switch your main display to another. By doing that, you can switch between profiles which will be having different displays in it.
To do that, follow the below mentioned steps.

    • Right click anywhere on the desktop and select Graphics properties > Select
Display > make changes to change your main displays > click on
      Save profile
      > assign a name to it.
    • You can create multiple profiles to make different monitors as main displays each time.
    • To apply the profile, right click anywhere on the
desktop and select Graphics Options > Profiles > in there you can select the new account which you have created to switch the display.

    Hope it helps.

    Win 10 monitor alignment calibration

I can't change the resolution from 1280 x 1024. It won't accept any other resolution. My actual res is 1920 x 1080 I can't find an alignment grid in Win 10. I know how to do it in Vista and 7 but not 10. How do I access the alignment grid?

Nobody knows how to find an alignment grid in Win10 . . .really?

Does this silence mean there is no alignment grid?
