Windows 10: Multiple monitors setup help?!

Hello,

I have been day trading for a few months now, I recently upgraded my setup to include 2 external monitors to my laptop. I have hooked up both screens via HDMI cables to my adaptor (pic #1), its a thunderbolt goes into usb-c port on my laptop (Dell xps-13).

I Would like somehow to save my trader workstation windows so every morning when I fire up my laptop, they are automatically restored to where I left them last. Can anyone tell me how to save my multiple display settings? I am using windows 10, the display setup seems to be a pain in the ass, sometimes I take out the adaptor USB-c plug and when I plug it back in it totally re-numbers and jumbles all the screens. This is driving me insane! I'm not sure if this is more a windows issue, or an IB TWS issue, perhaps somewhere in the IB settings, I can save my external monitor setup. Perhaps there is some sort of dummy plug I can buy, to save my setup while I take my laptop to use in other rooms elsewhere, or when I shut down my laptop.

The issue I'm having is that when I unplug the HDMI adaptor, every morning when I plug it back in all my tws windows end up on my laptop screen only . and I have to drag them all back to where I like them. This is getting tedious and annoying to me, and I know there has to be a better way!I'm like half savvy with computers but this one is stumping me, also pissing me off!

Has anyone experienced similar issues, any advice would be much appreciated?

Double Monitor Setup is not connecting

Hi Yuri,

To setup dual monitors, I suggest you to press Windows + P keys
and select Extend or the required option and check for status. If you are still unable to setup dual monitor, suggest you to update the Display Adapter driver by following the steps provided below and check for status.

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.

Changing the monitor to be the main display is one of the possible ways to resolve your concern. We need to set the monitor you prefer to be the main display thru Settings app. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings.
  
• Click System.
  
• Click Display in the left pane.
  
• Click Identity to know monitor number you wish to set as the main display.
  
• Select the monitor number, then click the Make this my main display check box.
  
• Click Apply.
