Was the fan on your card turning?

Code: MAL]#00000042#Fri Aug 28 10:58:50 2015# - Fan speed: -1% <->[NORMAL]#00000043#Fri Aug 28 10:58:50 2015# - Fan speed: -1 RPM[/quote] If you had the log set for 60 seconds, it didn't run through the test it would seem. Why did it get that high without you shutting it down first? Do you have on board graphics? If so, completely remove the card and connect the monitor to the on board graphics. If you have a friend with an spare graphics card, see if they would loan you one for a day or two just to test it out and see if the card is your problem.

now that I now what we are monitoring I'm going to look at what I need to setup and what I need to look for.
I'm not going to do this until tomorrow. Thanks

See if this will help. It will give you everything you can imagine if you can figure out how to read it. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...-diagnose.html The log will be very long, so start the test immediately after starting the log and turn the log off immediately after the test is finished.

Don't run it again unless you have a GPU temp monitoring program like MSI Global. Go into the settings and create a custom fan profile. For this test you want an aggressive fan profile. Also, this test is quite brutal on a card and in real life you will never see temps like you see here. That is the case with all stability tests. But, if you think your card is on it's last legs, I would not run the test. The test will push your graphics card to its limits. If you decide to run it again, do not let it get that hot. If it gets to 80°C, shut it down.

let me first answer your post on the card and Fan.
    1) There is no fan on the card. Only a heat sink
    2) There is no on board graphics card. It is a home built system and it only has the card which is a Diamond Radeon HD 4650 1GB. I didn't buy this card with the point of gaming so I wasn't think of temp as being an issue. Maybe I should have.
    3) I may have access to another card so I will check around
Next you asked "If you had the log set for 60 seconds, it didn't run through the test it would seem. Why did it get that high without you shutting it down first? "
I started the program and the alarm went off right away and I immediately shut it down. I probably didn't even let it run for a full minute as I was concerned because of the alarm I guess. Looking at that program again I realized that there was a setting for temp alarm and I did not change that. It defaults to 100c. That means that as soon as I started that program my card was at 100c.

Then to clarify what you are saying in your next post. You pointed me to two links.
    1) a diagnostic post which references GPUZ, which is a diagnostic program. this says to run a game to stress the system.
    2) instead you are recommending Afterburner, you second link, to stress the system.
I'm assuming you are suggesting to not use FurMark again but instead use GPUZ and Afterburner.
    Correct?

I'm going to first set up GPUZ and monitor the card and temp without anything running. I'm wondering if this card is always running hot and thus already cooked. I'll post back once I do this.

GPUz is not a stress program. It just identifies your card and all the details about it. It does not do anything other than read the details and has a sensor tab which can read all the sensor readings.

Afterburner is not a stress program either. It is basically an overclocking utility. But, it also has excellent sensor readings, such as temps, will allow you to set fan profiles (of course you don't have one) but it will monitor your temps very well, which is what I suggested it for.

With your problems, I would be hesitant to run Furmark again. Personally, I would not do it. Your card has demonstrated you cannot run that test. There is no sense in ruining your card. I may suggest you try a house fan. Remove the side of the case and blow the house fan directly into the case hitting the card and see if that makes a difference.

What manufacturer, model and size PSU do you have?

Here is a screen shot of the GPUZ with nothing running except for this Chrome browser running and of course all the start up apps.
    Attachment 36295
since I've was swapping memory my case has been open since yesterday. No fan yet.
    My PSU is Corsair TX750W

At 90°C with 0% GPU Load? That may be most of your problem. If it is being really used at all, it will crash.

OK, any card you can borrow will run OK with that PSU. That was the reason I asked. The PSU should always be a concern when installing a graphics card. But yours should have no problems.

I put the fan on blowing on the card it drops to 60 right away. Now it's down to 52

With the fan still on the GPU it remained about 45. At around 8 pm I started memtest86+. It has been running now for 2 hrs10 mins without the monitor hang. So far 2 passes and no errors with only the original 3 dimm chips in.

Monitor Screen stayed on all night. It's showing 8 passes no errors.
I'm assuming that 8 is enough and I can stop the tests.

8 complete passes is indeed enough.
If you have had any new bluescreens, please use the tool again and upload the zip file.

Thank you @essenbe for your help *Smile

A question then. Could the GPU be causing the Memory corruptions and "IRQLnot less or equal" BSOD?

Yes, it's possible. Just see how it goes for a while now that you have the GPU temp solved.

well temporally solved. With a loud fan blowing on an open case multiple occurances of IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL :)
I'll have to get a new GPU for the long term. One with a fan on it.
