Windows 10: Multiple screens

Why does Windows suck so much at multi screen use? If I press the start button on my laptop, and start typing something, it begins to filter it in place but then suddenly moves the start menu off to the "main screen". Every time I go away from my laptop (a Surface), when I come back all the windows are moved and resized into the top left-hand corner of my large external screen. Some programs crash (e.g. Windows Terminal) others behave super weirdly (conhost thinks the last visible line is the one that would be applicable on the large screen even though the window is tiled on the built in screen). If I drag one window to the small screen against the left margin it tiles it and then displays micro versions of all the windows on the main screen as though to say "if you click one of these options, i'll put it over here in this space". But it doesn't work.

It's frustrating. If I go to the loo I shouldn't have to spend the next several minutes trying to work out which windows have gone where. Imagine if every time you spoke to a colleague someone would come up to your desk and rearrange everything!

Am I doing something wrong or is this part of Windows genuinely that bad? If it really is full of problems, are there suitable workarounds to return windows to a useful spot despite the laptop sleeping?

(I've semi recently started using Windows for work after being a Linux only guy since Windows 2000 (and I started using Linux in around 97). I only actually got the external screen at the beginning of the month.)

Laptop with broken screen How much?

I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd

 

Multiple Screens not working upon latest Windows 10 Update

To help solve the issue regarding multiple screens, we suggest the following steps:

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.

• Press Windows + S.
• Search for Troubleshooting. click the result Troubleshooting.
• Select View All on the left panel.
• Click Advanced then Run as Administrator.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: Update drivers from manufacturer's website.

This is to ensure that installed update will be compatible to your device.
