Windows 10: My 86 year old mother's 5-yr old Dell Inspiron suddenly has Windows 11 and it is a mess

Nothing is where she is used to it being, which is a serious problem for someone that age, and it is so sluggish as to be effectively unresponsive. I thought I had automatic updates turned off on her laptop, but obviously I didn't. She didn't apparently use it for a week or so, so we are way past the regret date. I'd like to understand how this happened, to hopefully prevent future mishaps. What are the possible scenarios that could have led to this ie she accidentally clicked something she shouldn't have, or MS just did it automatically, and is there anything I can do to reverse it? Internet Explorer 11 Synced Very Old Favorites ( 5 Yrs. ago items )

Hi People,

I were troubleshooting IE11 in my end user's PC. Issue is after resetting IE11, added Favorites bar.

In that Favorites bar, IE11 synced very old Favorites that includes 5 yrs of favorites. Due to this more than 1000 of Favs mingled with recent ones.

Please suggest me troubleshooting steps to follow.

Windows 10 upgrade crashed my Dell inspiron laptop

For what it is worth my daughter has a one year old dell inspiron 11 3147 and I have a 4 month old Dell inspiron 7348. My daughters hard drive became unusable after an hour or so of upgrading and rebooting. Spent 10 hours and called dell and they replaced
drove but I am convinced wasn't (I was a window system engineer for over a decade).

Now my Dell 7348 had similar issue 3 months after running Windows 10. Dell diagnostics showed bad drive and they are replacing but I have never list two new hard drives so quickly (and different hard drive vendors).
