Windows 10: My advanced display options are missing after last update.

Let me start off by saying I am visually impaired. I used to be able to go into settings, display & find an advance option for font size. There were several drop downs such as Title, Menu, Tool bar, etc., that I could choose the size of the font. I used an 18 or 20 pt. font. This would enlarge the fonts on my applications. I'm not talking about the page itself, I can zoom & enlarge. This was for all the upper tool bars, or the side tool bars.

After this update: Windows 10 Enterprise, version 1703, en-us - That advanced option disappeared. All my settings reverted back to default. I have searched & searched & cannot find anything similar. I am hoping it is just housed somewhere else that isn't too obvious. Right now I am having to use a physical magnifying glass to do my work.

Any help from brilliant minds out there would be so much appreciated!!

NO DISPLAY ICON is now GONE from the Control Panel after the recent Windows 10 Update this week around 5/16/17.

I would like to change the size and appearance of the fonts in Windows 10. At this point after the update of 5/16/17 it is not possible. However, this update makes Windows 10 less flexible. I miss my more flexible Windows 10 with Display properties before
5/16/17 update. I miss to adjust display, file explorer etc. fonts through display options. I wish MS can find a solution for this issue. Thanks in advance.

 

Win 10 Settings problem - "Advanced Sizing of Text and Other Items", and other options do not work

No failed updates in Update History. Last Win update applied 2017 08 28 KB4033637. Normal wired connection, nothing being done to block updates. Checked for updates, am up to date (after updating Win Defender)

My problem is ...

I right click on desktop, select Display settings, click on Advanced display settings link.

In the Advanced Display Settings I can click on the other options, but when I click on the option I want "Advanced sizing of text and other items" nothing happens. The link is blue, it dims when I click, but no dialog is displayed.

So then I went Control Panel. Some of the controls work, but some, like Display do not.

And yes the problem continues after restarting the computer.

Can anyone else replicate this?

Luckily, you'll still be able to use Option Two in the tutorial below to manually change the "Menus" text size to what you want. The "Related Tutorials" links at the bottom of the tutorial include other items you can change the size of if needed.

Thanks Brink!! I've got to get our IT Admin to come down to do the #2 option. Any idea WHY they got rid of the first option with the last update?? Microsoft got rid of a few useful things when they went with Windows 10. *Sad

I don't know all the details for why, but it appears to have been removed to make it easier for DPI scaling level changes to look better.
