sometimes it lets me in and sometimes it doesn’t, but no matter what I do, I can’t get to the point to change my Microsoft account, add or delete or anything. What do I do?

  2. Cortana NOT working. Cant sign into Microsoft account! Brand new computer, less then 24 hours old.

    Hi Stacy,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

I suggest you to sign out from your current user account, restart your system and try login again in your Microsoft Account.

Also you may refer the below link:

I also suggest you to follow the below suggested methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1: I suggest you to deploy the System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue.
Kindly follow the below given steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select
Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.

    • In Command prompt type
      sfc/scannow
      and press enter.
    • Restart the computer.
Method 2: If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps to employ the DISM command lines:

    • Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.

    • In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Cleanupimage

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    • Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.
Keep us posted on Windows related queries and we will be happy to assist you further.

  3. How to replace old Microsoft Account with a new Microsoft Account

    Hi Hitendra,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. I understand your concern and I am glad to assist you.

I would suggest you to switch your Microsoft account to a Local account first and then switch back with a new Microsoft account. Please refer to the following steps:

    Step 1:

    • Type Manage your accounts
in the search bar and click on it
    • Click on "sign in with a local account instead"
    • Press next and complete the process.
    • If you do not have a local account, leave the credentials blank and proceed.

Step 2: Now, on the newly converted Local account, follow these steps to add a new MSA.

    1. In the Start search, type "Manage your accounts" and press Enter.

    2. Choose 'Accounts'.

    3. Click on "sign in with a local account instead"

    4. Enter the Microsoft account ID and Password and click Next.

Hope this post helps. Get back to us for further queries. We are happy to help!

My brand new laptop keeps trying to sign in with a very very old Microsoft account

SIGNING INTO MICROSOFT ACCOUNT WITH A NEW ADDITIONAL LAPTOP

I have a new laptop in addition to my desktop and other laptop. I am trying to sign into my Microsoft Account with it because I want to use the sync function across my devices. Currently the desktop and the other laptop sync okay and all is good but when
I try to log into my Microsoft Account with the new laptop initially it accepts my Microsoft Account and password then asks for the two step verification which it accepts and then again asks for my Microsoft password. I then put in the same password and it
keeps rejecting it. Just to make sure I have tried this password on the other devices and all is good.

I really need to be able to get the sync function working on this new laptop how can this be solved????
