My computer has absolutely no audio, through it's pre-installed speakers or external devices.

Logged on this morning and my computer couldn't detect any audio devices, external or internal. I updated all drivers, and still no signal. Ran the troubleshooter which said that an audio service wasn't working, either windows audio or windows audio endpoint builder. I started them both. Now the computer can detect audio devices, but it cannot actually play any audio. I followed a guide to go into logon for both devices and change them from "Local System Account" to "LocalService". Local System Account yielded no audio at all on both while Local Service would work for Windows Audio Endpoint Bu

  2. No Audio Output Device is Installed

    Hi,

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

    2. Select "playback devices".

    3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

    5. Save the changes.

    Let us know the result.

  3. Audio stuttering after wake

    Hi, ShimmyW

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Knowing that you have problems with your audio after waking up from sleep, you can try the following suggestions:

    1. Check for Hardware Conflicts:

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand the “System devices” category.
    • Look for any devices with yellow exclamation marks or error messages.
    • If you find any conflicts, try disabling or uninstalling the conflicting devices.
    2. Test with External Audio Device:

    • Connect an external audio device, such as headphones or speakers, to the computer.
    • If the audio stuttering persists, it suggests a problem with the Realtek audio device or its drivers.
    3. Disable Audio Enhancements:

    • Go to Control Panel > Sound.
    • Select the Realtek audio device as the playback device.
    • Click on the “Properties” button.
    • Go to the “Enhancements” tab.
    • Uncheck all the enhancement options.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Gigabyte support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or replace the audio device if necessary.

Audio Troubleshooter Turned Off My Speakers?!

    Hi,

If you're using external speakers, we suggest that you set the device as default. Here are the steps:

    • Open Start, enter Sound, select it from the list of results.
    • On the Playback tab, select a device, then Set Default.
    See
    Fix sound problems
for additional solutions you can perform.

If the same instance occurs, kindly perform the following steps on how to completely uninstall and reinstall the sound driver:

    • Go to Start Menu > search for Device Manager.
    • Expand Sound and audio devices.
    • Right-click on the current sound driver > choose uninstall.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Download the latest sound driver from the device manufacturer's website.
Keep us posted with the progress. We'd be glad to further assist you.
