Windows 10: My External hdd is converted to ext3-ext4

The OP's drive is external, with no OS on it. He just wants to use it for storage on his Windows PC, not dual boot etc.

I'm not dual booting either, it just happens that the Pi / Raspbian uses a fat 32 boot partition. Likely because that's where the firmware code is. I was just pointing out that disk management can see the Linux Partition. Windows explorer won't but disk management will. Diskpart will too as far as I know. I will have a look at that ext2 volume manager though. There are times I would like access to that second partition on my Pi's SD card from my Windows PC.

 

Hi alphanumeric thanks for the help but that was all a bit double Dutch to me lol I have some knowledge of PC but a not a great deal all I am looking for is to format my hdd that I had to convert to ext3 ext4 in order to work with a z Gemma box for sly but now I just want the hdd back to NTFS so I can use it on my PC as an extra drive but right now PC not recognizing it at all diskpart doesn't recognise either so just need a simple solution if there is one and if there is a harder solution I am also interested as long as you explain the steps I have to take thanks.

 

If it can't be see / detected by the OS there isn't much that can be done. Does it still work with the z Gemma box ? If no I would say the drive is dead, or the controller in the enclosure is dead. I recently had an external that Windows couldn't see in disk management or via diskpart. I took the enclosure apart and removed the drive. Connected to my adapter it was fine. In the original enclosure it was dead.
