Windows 10: my game doesn't work (minecraft windoes 10 starter edition)

So 2 days ago I purchased Minecraft windows 10 starter edition from the Microsoft store because some of my friends wanted to play it and so I decided to purchased it. It was perfectly fine, until today, for some odd reason my Minecraft just changed to v1.11.1 instead of being on the latest version (I don't know the v number) and I can play in the world by myself but my friends can't join me it says outdated server. So for the past 2 hours I've been trying to find a fix but I haven't found any specific fixes for my problem. I tryied uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it doesn't do anything. Please help me!

Minecraft beta edition

Having same problem connecting to friends worlds. The only one working is on Realms....frustrating. Before Realms we could connect most times but since it was opened no other worlds are connecting. We can sometimes connect to new friends worlds on Minecraft,
which is odd.
