Reinstall FS2020

After the last update Win11 crashed and I had to reinstall. Now I have to reinstall FS2020. So no hardware changes. Since all the FS2020 files are still (from the previous installation) on drive D setup from the DVD says that there isn't enough room on drive D to re-install FS2020 from the DVD's. Sure, I could delete all the files, but that means that not only does everything need to be re-installed from the 10 DVDs, but the many GB of updates from the last 2,5 years will need to be redownloaded. I was hoping to avoid that.

Googling the problem gives me a simple solutions, that does not exist in Win11 or are unfindable in my Dutch (NL) installation of Windows.

1. Click on Start (the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen)
   
2. Select Settings.
   
3. Go to Update & Security.
   
4. Stay on Windows Update.
   
5. Click the Check for Updates button.
   
6. Wait until the verification is finished.
   

That does sound simple, but "update and security" does not exist in NL Win11, and Windows Update only looks for Win updates, not for FS2020 updates. There is never anything about "verification". But I cannot figure out HOW this would ever work, because FS2020 is currently not installed on my system, the files merely reside on Drive D. So how would Windows update know to look for FS2020 updates (as if it ever has in the past. After all, the only time FS updates, is when I start it up).

Google also leads to a website, where MS stongly recommends using Fortec. I downloaded it, but it only scans drive C, and did not find FS2020 (since it is located on drive D). I actually rather doubt that this software is intended to do what I need done, since it talks about "reinstallation errors", not about "reinstallation". Additionally, I suspect that Fortec is not going to ever repair anything unless I pay for a lisence,

Please give me some or lots of advice? I suspect it will be that I need to delete all FS2020 files and start over. Sigh. While you are "advising", please remind me how to enter the product key and get the game registered. I remember that the first time I installed the program, that was very difficult. Also: how do a backup my favorites, and flight logs?

FS2020 updates

Tried your suggestions, Greg. No change. Troubleshooter doesn't find a problem. Nothing to update in the hub - says the FS2020 update was 8/13 (which seems odd) but the simulator didn't show up under apps like all the others that come with Windows 10.

FS2020 only shows up under All Owned in the Store App where the only option is to launch it.

Could this be a left-over from the original install??

Your help please for fs2020

My computer was compromised so we backed up all the files and then the entire hard drive was wiped. On the restore mode, it did not replace the fs2020 that was given to me as a gift. Please advise me on how I go about reinstalling my fs2020,
