Windows 10: My HP laptop windows 10 cannot connect to the printer

I did everything suggested by HP printer is also HP. I can print from my other devices. IT IS ONLY MY LAPTOP THAT HAS THE PROBLEM. I can scan and do everything else. But when I want to print, the first step is connecting to the printer. That fails.

Note that otherwise my laptop HP doctor and all else see my printer. All works until the time comes to print a test page from the laptop. That fails. Note that a test report, which is internal to the printer, works fine.

It seems that my laptop fails to send files to the printer.

It failed in the middle of printing PDF files. Printed one file. Could not print the second and here we are.

I uninstalled drivers, reinstalled, you name it, I did it. Something happened to something in the OS. But what?

The status of your printer will become offline if it can't communicate with your laptop. To isolate your issue, kindly answer the following questions:

• Have you tried connecting your printer to another computer/laptop?
• Have you tried connecting your laptop to another printer?

1 yr. old HP wireless laptop can't connect to older HP wireless Printer

Different answers each time I called HP Yes/No Can be connected/No it can't. Last call suggested kill printer add back. It's not on the HP list and can't pick up blue blinking wireless signal . Older HP Inkjet 6350 year old HP laptop both wireless wizard
asks for WPA

Windows 10 and HP Envy 5660 Printer

Recently updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. I have HP Envy 5660 All-in-one Printer. I have not been able to connect this printer to my laptop on my home network since the upgrade. I can print on it from my desktop, phone, and ipad.

I have tried the following:

• Downloaded and redownloaded software and driver for printer
• Checked compatibility with HP site, and says my printer is compatible
• Downloaded driver for Windows 8.1 and installed it in compatibility mode as suggested
• Troubleshooting printer many times to no avail

Printer shows up in my home network in Control Panel, but says "not connected" or sometimes "offline". Have spent hours trying to resolve this issue. Is there a solution? Or do I need to go back to Windows 8, and wait until Windows 10 has the drivers I need.
Is the problem with Windows 10 or with my HP printer? Very frustrated!!!!
