Windows 10: my keyborad and mouse isnt working after i reset my pc

okay so today i wanted to reset my pc because it was getting slow so i waited for the pc to do it thing to reset but as soon as it was done my keyboard and mouse stopped working so i was like woah this is werid so i un plunged my keyboad and mouse and put them back in and it didnt work so i was like werid they were working before so pungged in my phone and it was changering so then i looked up how to fix it and i went i terid going into safe mode and the stuff like that and it didnt work it said something of the line like something wasnt working or something idk but yeah can someone help me

Option 1 - General troubleshooting steps

1. Try a different USB port

2. In case of wireless mouse / Keyboard, pair it again with the computer

3. In case of wireless mouse / Keyboard, check if batteries are not weak.

Option 3: Update mouse & keyboard driver

Windows Key+X (Or right click on Start)

Click Device Manager

Expand Mice and Other Pointing Devices for Mouse (for Keyboard expand Keyboard)

Right click on the mouses listed there (Mostly HID Compliant Mouse, Synaptics etc). For Keyboard - pick up standard PS/2 standard keyboard or any other)

Click Update Driver Software

Click Browse my computer for driver software

Click Let my pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

Choose the driver

Click Next to update

If this does not work, select Search automatically for the updated driver in place of Browse my computer for driver software

Restart your computer

Option 4: Update driver from manufacturer's website

Go to the website of the Mouse / Keyboard's manufacturer or computer's manufacturer

See if some driver is released for your model and OS

If yes, download that

In Option 2, you click Update Driver Software, in place of this, click Uninstall

Install the downloaded driver

Restart your computer

 

mouse and keyborad are not working

Hello, I am using windows 10 pro in acer aspire e1-531 laptop pc . Today while i log into my windows screen suddenly my mouse and keyboard are not working but some how my optical mouse is working normally. My keyboard and mouse are normal because i am able
to work with on my same pc with Ubuntu OS.

unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.
