Windows 10: My laptop shut down on update and it's stuck now, help?

So, my laptop was updating after I turned it on,and when it got to 100% it got stuck, the little ring thing kept spinning but it remained like that for almost an hour, then the power went out and since there's no battery it shut down completely.

Now it starts up and it gets normally to the user screen but when I put the password and enter it gets stuck with a black screen. I can move the mouse around but that's it, and eventually the mouse stops as well.

What can I do to fix this? The worst thing is, this actually isn't even my laptop, it's my uncle's who lent it to me because I don't have one, so I fear he may get mad and stop letting me borrow it if I don't fix it ASAP

To understand the issue better, I would like to ask some questions:

• Is the computer stuck in the Installing updates screen?
• For how long is the computer stuck in the screen?
• When was the computer last updated?
• Is the screen showing any percentage of installation?

Sometimes the installation might take a long time to install if the update is of large size. So, I suggest you to wait for sometime and check if the system boots to the desktop. If it is taking a longer time, then perform a Power Drain by following the steps
provided below:

• Shut down the Computer.
• Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
• Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Connect the power source and start the computer.
• After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.

Windows Update Stuck

Updating my laptop which I haven't used for 6 months.
I go to Settings, Update and Security, and there are a list of 10 updates, 2 of which say pending install, the others say pending download. Left laptop on overnight and still saying the same this morning.
Ran Windows Troubleshooting Updates twice, both times found no problem.
Have good Wi-Fi signal. Have re-booted several times. Now stuck. Can you please suggest how I get round this please.
