Windows 10: My Laptop stops typing randomly and I am wondering if it has to do anything with my hard disks.

My Laptop has been having this problem for a while now.It stops typing randomly and I'd have to open and close the computer again. It sometimes takes a while for the computer to stop typing. Sometimes it only takes a few minutes, and sometimes it just doesn't type at all. In this state, when I double click an app, it opens its properties, and when I try to load up a website, It downloads it. It just acts weirdAlso, the backspace key never works, even when I am able to type.Whenever I restart my laptop, it shows smart hard disk 1 error301. I'm wondering if it has to do anything with this.

Laptop keyboard randomly stops working.

My laptop keyboard randomly stops working. The only way to get it back to work is by a hard reset (press the power button to shut off the laptop or navigate in the system and press shut down). The it will work for an undetermined amount of time (it could be few minutes, hours, days or even week) and then randomly stop working again. Sometimes it happens multiple times a day. I have the BIOS updated to the latest version. Any suggestions how I can fix this problem as it is extremely frustrating.

My laptop is Dell XPS 9380. I contacted Dell and they want to replace the keyboard. It is clearly not a hardware issue. Please advise if there is a way to fix this problem.

 

Laptop hard drive upgrade

To replace a hard drive on a laptop is a little more troublesome than a desktop. 1st as most people here suggest you will need some sort of a backup disk just in case. Also be sure when buying the new Hard Disk is compatible with your model. And i would strongly suggest you install a new system and start from scratch because there are far too many problems that can occur when transferring system files.
