    My laptop won't start unless plugged in, but can be unplugged after


    It started not working two days ago after working just fine before. It won't turn on without the corn being plugged up but can be unplugged after. If I plug it up after it will either A. Turn on automatically if I've pressed the power button, go into automatic repair screen loop turning on, going to that screen and turning off. of which the only way I can avoid it is pressing fn and f2, or B. Not turn on unless I press the power button but still go into a loop unless I press fn and f2. Then it's hard to get it to go past the troubleshooting screen to the login screen.     battery plugged in not charging

    To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

    • Unplug Laptop
    • Remove the Battery
    • Plug in Laptop and turn on the laptop
    • Go to Control Panel - Devices and uninstall all instances of Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
    • Shut down Laptop and unplug it
    • Insert Battery and plug in the laptop
    • Start the Laptop

    Can't adjust brightness when the power plugged or unplugged

    Hi there,

    • Previous status:
    brightness 100%, plugged in; brightness 50%, unplugged.

    When I unplugged the laptop, the brightness will decrease down to 50%. And will increase back to 100% when the laptop plugged in back automatically.

    • Current status:
    Always keep the last brightness setting, no matter laptop plugged in or unplugged, the brightness doesn't change.

    Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks!

    PC Won't Start

    As others have suggested, unplug the power to the psu and then plug it back in and try to boot. My roommates computer does this every once in a while, and he does the above and it will boot.
