Windows 10: My Lenovo T490 new laptop c drive showing full..

Hi,


20 days ago i have purchased a new laptop with 512 SSD and now the C drive showing red colour. Maximum i have used 50 GB space. I have tried my best to fix it but no use because still the issue hasn't resolve.

To address your concern about missing drive, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

• Press Windows logo key + S on your keyboard.
• Type diskmgmt.msc on the search box and hit Enter.
• Look for your missing drive on the Disk Management window.
  
• Right-click on it and give it a new drive letter.

Let us know if the drive will show up.

You have created a new user account and everything is working fine, the next step is to transfer files from old to new user account.

On your old user account, make sure to show hidden folders by following these steps:

• Open File Explorer and click This PC.
• Click View and see if there's a check on Hidden items.
• Click View > Options > Change folder and search options.
• Click View tab and check Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
• Click OK.

On your old user account, let us transfer the old user files to the new user account by following these steps:

Step 1: Copy the old user files.

• Open File Explorer.
• Click This PC.
• Click Local Disk (C and click Users.
• Open the name of your old user account and copy all the files.

Step 2: Transfer to new user accounts.

• Open File Explorer.
• Click This PC.
• Click Local Disk (C and click Users.
• Open the name of your new user account and paste all the files.

Resource monitor shows drive C: with different letter after adding new internal drive.

Hi,

I have a desktop computer with a few HDDs installed.

Yesterday I added a new drive and formatted it using Disk Management tool.

The tool suggested drive H: which I accepted.

I then rebooted the machine.

When opening Resource monitor I noticed that C: drive letter was now showing up as H:\1 and the new drive as H:.

However File Explorer showed C: and H: as did the command shell.

If I disconnected drive H: then resource monitor showed C: drive correctly.

So is this a hardware issue?
