    My other computer says windows defender security center has blocked it, help


    Windows defender security center has locked my other computer due to threat detected: trojan spyware, App: Ads.fiancetrack2.dll. Access to this PC has been blocked for security reasons. Contact Windows Support: +1-855-225-4244 Security Helpline.I figure this being suspicious! Can anyone advise of further action I can take?

    windows defender & security center services keep turning off


    Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

    If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

    As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.

    Windows Defender is blocking too much saying it viruses

    Hi Sam,

    Based on the screenshot that you've provided, Controlled Folder Access is turned on, blocking most apps that you're using. We suggest that you turn it off to allow blocked apps in Windows Defender. Follow the steps below:

    • Select Start > Settings.
    • Choose Update & security > Windows Defender.
    • Select Open Windows Defender Security Center.
    • Select Virus & threat protection, and then choose Virus & threat protection settings.
    • Under Controlled folder access, turn it on or off.
    • Once done, try accessing the apps and see if you can now access them.

    Hi,

    It is possible that the Control folder access is enabled that is why its blocking the access to user folders when scanning with HP Solution Center. To resolve your issue, we suggest that you follow the steps in this
    article to disable the allow a blocked app in Windows Defender Security Center.
