Windows 10: My PC crashes after closing games.

After closing games, my PC crashes, sometimes 10-15 minutes after, and sometimes 30 minutes after, and sometimes it doesn't even crash. There is no pattern I can see in terms of what it crashes from. Here is how the crash goes: Some time after closing the game, my PC completely freezes, then, unless I choose to force-restart it, it eventually black-screens and does not restart on its own. Please help me solve this problem!My specs:CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800XVIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070RAM: 32.0 GB

Hi Morning,

I have tried both of those things you have suggested but to no avail.

I have paid a pc specialist to come around and have a look and they made sure bios and drivers were up to date but couldnt replicate the crashes ive been getting.

I am still managing to play the one game i have with friends.

Sometimes if i logout back to main menu of game it will crash, restart pc. other times it wont and then other times it crashes, restarts pc shortly after closing game

• VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE is a blue screen error message that is usually directly related to the graphics card driver.
  
• nvlddmkm.sys is the core program of the graphics card, so I judge that the problem you are experiencing may be related to the graphics card driver.
  

You can try the following:

1. Update the graphics card driver . The steps can be referred to:

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
