    My PC is broke after kb4023057 update

    After my PC installed the update KB4023057 on it´s own, he´s completly usless. All USB-Ports won´t work except one. The PC won´t shut down or restart properly, rather stay on with a black screen forever. Because of that I can´t fix it with a recovery disc. This happend last year and resulted in a complet reinstall, but it didn´t fixed it. I dont want to reinstall Windows just to do it again in half a year. What can I do to fix this problem?

    :)

    Update KB4023057 issue

    Hello,
    Got a notice that update KB4023057 waiting to be installed. Looked into installed updates list, it is listed as succesfully installed on 6 July 2018. Tried first to uninstall this update before installing the "waiting" update, it is not listed in the uninstall list. Tried to uninstall it via cmd prompt as admin, got answer it is not installed on my computer.
    Made a search in microsoft updates catalog, "We did not find any results for "kb4023057"" was the answer.
    Now I am asking you what to do, install or not, and what else can I do.
    Answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  3. KB4023057 Error 0x80070643

    I have Windows 10 (1803) and got this error above when trying to install the update "KB4023057".

    None of the "Solutions" or "Suggestions" (uninstalling, stopping services, ISO-image, repair-tool, a.s.o.) helped.

    So I tried to download and install it by myself. .. And successfully installed the update.

    I took these Steps (maybe, you only need steps 4-6):

    1: Download of Patch under the official microsoft update download page "Microsoft Update Catalog"

    2: Unpack the downloaded package in a temporary folder.

    3: Try to run the unpacked installer "windows10.0-kb4023057-x64.msi" as admin via CMD

    -> Error "Cannot write to file "C:\Program Files\rempl\ <blablabla>"

    4: Renamed the folder mentioned above to "C:\Program Files\rempl-OLD"

    5: Run the setup again.

    -> Success

    6: Searched for new Updates with the regular Windows-update-function.

    -> Success ... Update is no longer shown.

    Maybe it is enough for you to only run steps 4-6.

    How to uninstall KB4023057

    On Jan 4 I installed KB4023057. I now wish I hadn't and want to uninstall it. I see it listed in "View update history" but it is not listed under "Uninstall update". Some of the fixes installed on Jan 4 are listed, but not KB4023057. How do I uninstall it other that by restoring from an old backup?

    Update:
    I see that KB4023057 is again awaiting download. Odd.
