Windows 10: My Photos are only saving as Rar Zip Files

Every time I am on a site and I right-click and select "save image as..." it saves it as a Rar Zip File. I thought this would change if I used the snipping tool to take photos, it does not. I downloaded a Rar Zip Opener and it did nothing. It simply continued saying "unsupported archive file or corrupted archive file" every time I tried to open the image. Someone suggested I open the image in paint and then transfer it to a jpg from there. I did and it still changed it back to a Rar Zip File. Someone suggested that clearing my internet history and cookies would help (for reasons that don't make sense to me, but I tried it nonetheless) and that did not work either.


I work with images online as a part of my part-time job. I need to get this figured out asap. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Need to save space on the computer - need to delete duplicates and folders from zips/rars that the folders are from

Original Title: File Organization

So I have thousands of zip and rar files and many folders that where created from extracting files. Now that I'm really needing to save space on my computer, I need to delete duplicates and folders from zips/rars that the folders are from. But the trick
is, some of the folders are the only thing there, there's no matching zip/rar file to go with it, so I want to keep the folder.

So far, I haven't found out a way to list the files to line up any file type that has the same name. Is that even possible, or can there be some sort of update to make this possible, it would make organizing files and deleting stuff so much faster and easier.

rar files opens directly without save

Hello friends,
I've one query..
by mistake i selected option "open this type of file directly" while downloading one rar file from my browser.

After than if i click on any rar file link or attachment in forum, regardless of size it opens directly without asking to save to any path option..

how to revert this change?
