Windows 10: My printer stopped working with the latest Windows Update

I have a 2 year old Canon MF242dw printer that has worked perfectly since I bought it. After a recent Windows update it stopped working and says that the Driver is not installed. So I re-downloaded the driver and when trying to install it, was told that it was already installed. I've rebooted the computer and the printer multiple times and it does not fix the problem. Windows seems to think the driver is not installed when I need to print ,but says that it is installed when I try to install it.

To be sure that you followed my suggestion correctly, I will specify some steps: CP>devices and printers>add a printer>the printer that I want isn't listed>add a local printer with manual settings>define port>Windows update and install

 

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

 

Snagit printer stopped working

Hello everyone. I'm trying to help someone whose Snagit printer stopped working. It stopped working when Snagit was updated from version 21.4.2 to version 24.0.1.555. It's a Windows 11 laptop, Version 22H2. He's trying to print from a document, like a PDF file, to Snagit. The Snagit 2024 printer is on the printer list and you can select it, and it looks like it's going to work except nothing happens. Usually it would pop up in the the Snagit editor. I even went to Printers & scanners in the Windows settings and tried a test page from the Snagit 2024 printer listed in there. You can see it appear in the print queue and then it disappears. We tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the software and that didn't help. I'm not sure what else to do. I attached a screenshot that kind of shows what we're trying to do. Thanks
