Windows 10: My taskbar no longer appears if I have an app or program open.

My taskbar is set to auto hide, typically mousing over the bottom of the screen when I have an app open like Mozilla will bring up the taskbar. I can see that it is still being brought up, but not over top of the program that is open.I have attempted to turn auto hide off and back on with a reboot and to no avail.Any help is appreciated. It's worked for years up until a few weeks ago.

Mail & Edge won't appear along taskbar & no icons are appearing for either.

I have run the SFC and a clean boot as you suggest but the problem persists.

Another little example of the problem is I opened the Calculator app for use recently, and upon minimising it the icon did not appear on the taskbar below and so Calculator became no longer retrievable from that point.

I have now managed to pin the Mail app to the taskbar, but this was only achieved by finding an old email and opening it through Mail which was set as the default program. Mail still does not appear in the programs list.

Any further suggestions?

 

Jump Lists No Longer Appear

After the uninstallation of some software yesterday, I no longer have jump lists in my taskbar icons. I right click on them, and there's no response whatsoever. Right click functionality on the taskbar itself and in all other places appears to be normal. I'm hoping there will be a relatively simple registry key I can edit or something. Anyone have some suggestions?

 

Remove (open) programs from taskbar

I'd just get a program called Ultramon. It puts a second taskbar on the second monitor, so if you have something up and running on the second monitor at all times it is displayed on that taskbar. It doesn't do exactly what you want, but it does solve the problem of wasted taskbar space.
