Windows 10: My Username Listed As Startup App

When windows is loading up, there is always a prompt to choose which program to open a file with. I just click off of it to get it to go away. When looking at my list of startup apps, my name is listed as a startup app. This is the culprit using process of elimination.


I've ran chkdsk for another error, my c: is dirty, which by the way chkdsk did not clear the dirty bit, but after doing that, I am now getting two of those prompts, and when looking at the startup apps list again, there are two of my usernames listed now.


I looked in the Users folder on the c: drive and my user folder and Public folder is there, but now there is a 0KB file in there titled as my first name.


Anyone have any idea what's going on here and if it is a problem?

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix
