Windows 10: My version number is 1803 and feature updates that keep failing are for 1809. How do I fix...

I guess the subject line says it all. I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 10 Home on May 24 of this year, 2019.


Settings > System > About says Pro was installed June 1 of 2018.

Quality updates say they are for version 1803 and they installed successfully through July of this year, 2019. The Feature Updates for version 1809 keep failing. Why am I even getting updates for version 1809 when the "About" information says I still have version 1803?

Failed version 1809 update

I’m running version 1803. Constantly getting errors and failures when auto update tries to install version 1809. Impossible to fix this – even clean install fails. I did some research and it is clear I’m not the only one with this issue – I’ve seen hundreds
of complaints about problems with the 1809 update!

But when I look at the SSU packages, my current update installed version 1803 was released in February 2019, while the update version 1809 was released last December 2018. This makes no sense. Why would the auto update try to install an earlier
update version – 1809 – over a more recent update version, i.e., 1803? Unless your SSU info on the MS website has a really bad typo regarding the release date – but I would think something so obvious is unlikely…

Should I just turn off auto updates for a few months? I don’t want to waste anymore time on this.

In Settings, About, Windows specifications are shown as:

Edition Windows 10 Pro

Version 1803

Installed on 27/10/2018

OS build 17134.556

However in View update history, Feature Updates (1)

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809

Successfully installed on ‎16/‎12/‎2018

My question is

1. What version am I running?

2. How can I update the information to show correctly(?) the version number in About Windows specifications if it should be 1809?

Feature Update 1809 amd64 2019-03 Fails to install completely

When I had my notebook in a location that I could leave it unattended, I clicked the Install Now on the Windows Update window. It made it past 18 percent, but in about 30 minutes it reported that it could not install some of the updates.

Windows Update shows two Feature updates the 1809 one that failed to install completely and the 1803 Feature that has been installed an running since last July.

Another thing is the listing for the 1809 Update as amd64 instead of x-64

Both feature versions of 1709 and 1803 showed x-64

Is there any difference in the terms AMD 64 and X-64?

Why must a Administrator option be needed in order to create Installation Media for another system?

I would like to be able to use one of the Library's wired internet systems to save the Feature 1809 ISO file, then copy it to USB for use on my notebook.
