Windows 10: My Wifi Adapter is 100% missing on my computer.

So I was playing an online game and the internet died. Rebooted my PC about 7 times and nothing got fixed. Checked where my internet connections were at the bottom right and NO NETWORKS were found. Its like my PC has zero clue I have wifi set up to my PC. All the answers I keep finding is update drivers for it but again there is no wifi adapter to update according to my PC. I dont even know the name of it its been many years since I have had any issues with this. This is beyond frustrating.

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.

In answer to your questions

• It's a home-built system, so there is no make or model as such. Just a parts list.
• I'm using a wireless connection. the adapter is a TP-link tn822n USB WiFi adapter.
• When the problem first manifested itself, there was no warning triangle. However, since I re-installed the wireless adapter's driver, it now appears. There is no triangle on the adapter in device manager though.

Step 1:

I receive a message indicating:

"One or more network protocols are missing on this computer" and an option to try the repairs as an administrator.

attempting repairs as an administrator results in the same error, listed as "not fixed"

step 2:

This produces exactly the same results as step 1.

I can't find the Intel WiFi drivers because I don't remember exactly what version I need and the automatic installer doesn't detect the adapters as missing.
