Windows 10: My WIFI Keeps Cutting Out!

First, I was running Windows 7. I am on a computer so, I decided to buy a network adapter. It worked really great but when I installed windows 10 about 20 days ago my WIFI just kept cutting out (disconnecting) after 5-10 Minutes. It's really irritating and I can't get any work done. My other devices work okay. Could anybody help me out I'm in a lot of trouble here.


THINGS I'VE TRIED:

1) I went into the power management window and deselected the box saying "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

2) I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the network adapter off the internet but I still face the same problem.

3) I have used the windows troubleshooter but it only resets the connection and after 5 minutes the WIFI disconnects again.



Please keep in mind that I am using an external network adapter.

Windows 10 Wifi keeps disconnecting after Spring update

Hello there.

After I updated my PC with the latest patch, my wifi is horrible. It keeps dropping the internet connection every 10 minutes or so and the access to internet is cut off for 10 - 20 secs and then comes back. Really annoying.

(I tried updating my wifi adapter, internet adapter on the Device manage, also the easy step turn off and on the router and didn't solve my issue)

Any suggestions? Thanks.

that your network components or the TCP/IP were corrupted or reconfigured during the update. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting and check if there are any changes:

Update drivers

To know how to update drivers, kindly refer to this

Reset TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt
  as
  Administrator.
  
• 
  Run
  this command:
  
  • 
    netsh
    int
    ip reset
    and hit
    Enter.
    

Exit
Command Prompt
and
monitor your network connection.

Disable auto turn-off of
WiFi device.

• 
  Go to
  Network and Sharing Center.
  
• 
  Click
  Change adapter settings
  on the right pane.
  
• 
  Right-click your
  connection name(WiFi
  name) and choose
  Properties.
  
• 
  Click on
  Configure...
  button.
  
• 
  Go to
  Power Management
  tab.
  
• 
  Uncheck/disable
  the check box radio for "Allow this device to turn off this device to save
  power".
  
• 
  Restart the PC
  (Important).
  

Reconfigure TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

  Run
  Command Prompt

  these following commands:

    tcp set heuristics
    disabled

• Have you installed any drivers for the WiFi card?

Try updating the drivers and check if the issue persists.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to update the Wifi drivers.

• Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
• Select the device manager.
• Right-click your Wireless/Wi-Fi devices.
• Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.
• Restart the machine and check if the issue persists.
