Windows 10: My Win10 balks at loading an old program. Why isn't Compatibility Mode working?

I have an old program that says it's for Windows 95NT or plain 95. For all the choices in the next few Categories, I'm surprised they left out questions on Compatibility Mode. I did use the C.Mode Tab and selected Windows 95When I use compatibility mode it balks and hollers about the install CD exe's are not a 64bit program. I thought that was what Compatibility Mode is all about and overcomes. I tried the Troubleshooter. Didn't seem to be help there. I finally got something to install but it didn't look like the main program as I remembered it in the Jurrasic Age. And anyway when you try to r

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

If the program you are referring to is written to work with older version of Windows, Windows 10 will still try to run the program in Compatibility Mode. Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that lets you run programs written for earlier versions of
Windows.

I suggest you to reinstall the program in Compatibility mode and check if it helps. follow the below steps.

• 
  Right click the setup file for the program, this can be designated as
  setup.exe or something similar. Click Troubleshoot Compatibility
  to launch the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter wizard which will check for issues.
  
• 
  Select the option “Troubleshoot program”
  and depending on the problems you are experiencing when attempting to install or use the software, check off the problems. Click on Next.
  
• 
  Select a version of Windows the program is known to work in.
  
• 
  Click on Next and then follow the on screen instructions.
  

If the issue still persist, you need to contact the software vendor and check for the latest updates to make the program run on Windows 10.

Where can I find instructions to use the “compatibility mode” in Windows 10?
Someone in the MS Community recently suggested using the compatibility mode but I haven’t found the function in my Win10.

I still use the great “MS FrontPage 2000”, it was working fine on my old system using Windows 10, but will not load on my new computer also using Windows 10.


Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
