Windows 10: My Win10 can't recognize that i have an internet connection.

My Win10 can't recognize that I have an internet connection. I've tried to surf this platform for similar problems and all of the suggested solutions didn't help.
I tried to run the ethernet diagnosis window but it keeps saying " an error occurred while troubleshooting, validating the integrity of troubleshooter failed. "
this all happened after I've enrolled in the Windows10 insider program. i tried to stop the countless updates of the windows as i was using a metered connection so I opened the task manager > services tab > then I pressed "open services tab" at the bottom left corner of the task manager window. I was following a video I saw on youtube of how to disable windows update for good.
the thing is after 2 days windows start so use pop-ups green screen that is quite irritating always overlays above anything i do saying " your windows will expire soon 7/1/2020 please update it. i tried to re-enable the update but i couldn't since that day and my windows can't detect any internet connection despite the fact that i am using the internet right now from that pc using google.
also, I can't restore the pc as it keeps saying the files you're using is untrusted ones.

this hard drive is not connected to my computer, it is connected to my wireless router.

after scanning for hardware changes as you suggested in step one, there is no usb hard drive
listed on my computer, either in the device manager, or in the network list in file manager which includes both computers connected to the router. this computer is recognizing the router, internet, and other computers connected to the router.
it is not recognizing the hard drive connected tot he wireless router.

I checked my wireless router to see if the usb hard drive is discoverable and verified that it is.

 

Ext Hdd not always recognized since upgrading to Win 10

I've noticed since upgrading from Win7 to Win10 my external hard drive is not recognized all of the time. I hear the connection sound that Windows makes but my hard drive is not listed & cannot be accessed. The drive's health checks out just fine & still easily connects to another Win7 machine. Is this common with Win10, any fixes?

 

Win10 does not recognize internet connection

Windows 10 does not recognize my internet connection. Win10 sees my Wifi router, and will connect to it, but does not see the internet. However, other non-microsoft apps, such as Firefox and Thunderbird are installed and, are connected to the internet
perfectly fine through this same Wifi router connection. I'm posting this using Firefox. Edge is useless as it thinks there is no internet. Other computer and my phone are also connected to this wifi router with no problem. THis is an ASUS Vivobook laptop,
so wifi only, no ethernet jack, got it from NewwEgg about a week ago. It worked fine for the first couple of days until it installed some updates and did a restart. It has not worked properly since. I've tried network reset, reboots, and other hardware resets.
Nothing works. What is wrong?
