My Windows 10 Desktop computer goes to sleep at random time while I am actively working on it or when idle. I checked the System Event Log at the time when it occurred and saw Event 524, Kernel-Power "Critical Battery Trigger Met".

    Details show:

I did notice that 2 seconds before this that the Application Event Log shows: Event 0, IHA_MessageCenter "PowerEvent handled successfully by the service." There were no other Events between these two Events in any of the other Event Logs.

This is a desktop computer with no battery. I also noticed that hovering over the power icon on the task bar line it is saying "Fully charged 100%" and I previously don't remember seeing that icon. I'm not exactly sure when this started. It had been doing this occasionally; but, the frequency increased that lead to the investigation of the Event Logs.

Please tell me what I can do to fix this problem. It occurs several times a day. Thank you for any help I can get.

    :)

  2. Random sleeping

My upgraded W10 machine has several issues NOT solved by MS updates.

Does anyone have a solution to these issues that will work?

    Thanks

  3. Windows 10 (sometimes) goes to sleep after only 2 minutes of inactivity

    Hello Mark,

Your screensaver might be one of the possible reasons why your computer goes to sleep every time the computer is inactive. It is possible that the idle time is set every 2 minutes. Having said that, you can try adjusting the waiting time by following the
steps below and see if it makes any difference:

    • Go to Control Panel, click on Appearance and Personalization.
    • Select Personalization.
    • Click on Screen Saver at the bottom right.
    • Adjust the waiting time and hit Apply.

If the issue persists, we recommend trying the suggestions posted by Aleksandr 10 in this
thread. Most of the Community users found his suggestions
    helpful.

Let us know if that worked out for you.
