Windows 10: My Windows Defender Firewall stopped working once I installed Bit Defender Antivirus Plus

[COLOR=rgba0, 0, 0, 1]My Windows Defender Firewall stopped working once I installed Bit Defender Antivirus Plus. Their support argues it wasn't their software's fault as this version doesn't support a firewall and refuses to give useful support. Right now, my Win Defender firewall has no permission to start and I, as Administrator, can't start nor stop the service. This was not an issue ever since I installed this pc 1-2 years ago.[/COLOR]

You can't see from this picture above, but the "Stating" is flipping to "stopped" and vice versa at fast rate, signifying a restarting of the service constantly.

As Administrator, I do not have permission to start nor stop this service.[/COLOR]






From this link: https://windowsreport.com/cant-activate-firewall-windows-10/ , I tried #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5 with a slight tweak as the command provided was deprecated.



I lost RDP control over 2 pcs. Not working win defender firewall resulted in no ports open for incoming, however, outgoing still works tested outgoing by using games, ssh, and Edge browser.

Third-party antivirus programs usually have their own uninstallers provided by the software developer. We suggest checking the developer's website or contacting their support team for assistance with uninstalling their program. After fully uninstalling the
third-party antivirus software, you may turn on Windows Defender by following these steps:

• Click Start.
• Type Windows Defender Security Center and press Enter.
• Click Firewall and network protection.
• Click Private (discoverable) network and click On.
• Click Public (non-discoverable) network and click On.

How to stop “windows defender antivirus service”?

I tried it but never worked as the “windows defender antivirus service” fails to be permanently disabled. It keeps running!

Defender AntiVirus

There are 4 options under Defender. Two refer to AntiVirus; AntiVirus Network Inspection Service & AntiVirus Services. Under Startup Type these two are listed as manual and the Status column said Inspection Service is running. When I clicked on the Start
button in Properties, I got an immediate message: "Win.. Def.. Anti.. Serv.. on local comp.. started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
