Windows 10: my windows desktop thinks its a laptop? it wont sleep no matter what i change these...

Windows 10 upgrade and now desktop wont wake out of sleep mode

Dear Mr.SujataMoktan

Your suggestion did not solve the problem, because it just find and solve the problem for computer before sleep takes too long.

still computer wont wake-up from sleep and also i encounter when i shutdown laptop the power button still lighting and wont turn off.

if you kindly please help us on this matter.

 

Hibernating laptop changes to sleep behaviour after Windows 10 May 2019 update

Thank you for your reply. I have tried the two steps (turning of Hybrid sleep and Fast startup) you suggested but to no avail. Okay, for your two questions:

1. My laptop is a HP Pavilion 14-bf101tx, and currently running Windows 10 1903 (upgrading from 1809).
2. Nope. No error messages. I suppose the boot process was successful, however, my battery was reduced. That's why I suggest the post title as "Hibernating changes to sleep behaviour" because the battery level reduction looks like sleep behaviour.

Please inform me of any diagnostics information you might need. Thank you for your kind assistance.

 

Why does win 10 think my desktop is a laptop

When I open the Start menu and choose “Shut down or sign out” there is not a “Sleep” option, only “Sign out,” “Hibernate,” “Shut down,” and “Restart.”.
When I open “Power Options” I get a window titled “Power & sleep”

When I select “Related settings – Additional power settings” I don't get
a “Choose when computer sleeps” option beneath “Choose when to turn off the display,” but there is a “Choose what the power buttons do” option above. I don’t believe that option relates to a desktop, but if I select it, I get:

Two things:

• The selection “Power & sleep button settings,” leads me to believe Win 10 thinks my desktop is a laptop.
• Under the menu “Shutdown settings” there is no “Sleep” option.

As an aside when I select “When I press the sleep button,” a button that as far as I know does not exist on my desktop, there is also no “Sleep” option offered.

So, here’s what it comes down to:

• With the “Power and sleep button setting” Win 10 is offering me laptop options.
• Probably unrelated, or related in some complex manner I don’t understand, I have also lost my “Sleep” option, which I sorely miss.

I've tried to in include images and hope I’ve explained my problem clearly, if not, please ask me any question you choose and thanks for any answers or suggestions you can offer.
