Windows 10: Mysterious 2502 2503 errors when trying to install updates to programs

Try that KB3124266, it is the Cumulative Update.

Other two was for Adobe Flash Player.

Yes but if you succeed on finding the culprit, you'll feel relief and hope for the next update to straight it up.

 

Ok. Uninstalled that. Rebooted. No luck. Still get 2502 then 2503 those fatal error installer.

 

I don't want to let you down, but... I ran out of tips. *cry

 

This may be a bit brute force, but I am thinking about letting windows 10 reinstall itself. I won't do that unless I have to, but it happened by itself on one of my other PCs. That one is running fine.

One suggestion made to me was to run SFC system file checker and see if it can find anything wrong. What do you think of that approach?

SFC did nothing to help me. Instead, it gave me a message that a repair package was ready. So I rebooted. I reran SFC a couple times with no good results. At that point, I gave up.

Today I completely reinstalled Windows 10.

That was just before the boneheads from Verizon totally nuked my internet. I wanted to kill somebody! It didn't stop all day. They screwed up my in-house wiring. I had to tell them how to fix it (I am an electrical engineer). I have had a reaaaalllyy bad day with them. If they can't fix it, I will replace their crap DSL with Cable. Pardon my rant. I am still so mad that I could spit.

Maybe tomorrow, when I calm down, I will get back to my issue which should now be gone.

In my opinion, despite all the help I got, this issue was not fixable. I haven't marked this thread as 'fixed' because of that. Having to totally reinstall windows was an act of desperation and frustration.

 

I registered just to tell you, and everybody else, that I found the solution to the MSI installation error 2503/2502 problem. At least for Windows 10 pro. Go to the link below. You have to go into the registry and add some things so that MSI installation files are given the "Install as administrator" option when you right-click on the file. Worked like a charm for me.
