    Hello Microsoft Forum,

around a month or two ago the folders in the picture below have started appearing in very large numbers. Unfortunately I was unable to isolate the cause of this. I have run several AntiMalware programs and they seem harmless for now, I have also browsed the web and only found vague descriptions of similar occurences that were attributed to a Windows update, which didn't impress me much since I doubt they would land in the Downloads folder, it's too fishy a location.

As mentioned these Folder are edited up to several times every day and upon deleting they will restored either within minutes or hours.

Since they have been no noticable harm until now, and there have been no spyware alerts I haven't given in too much attention yet, but seeing that it won't be deleting itself and I have no way of preventing it from returning or isolating the cause I am reaching out to see if there is a record of this happening and possible solutions.

I thank everyone who answers ahead of time.

    Regards

    Gary

    :)

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name

    Suggestion:
    1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
    2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
    3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
    4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.
