  1. Need Driver for new 1080 Res Monitor

I have an old HP s5310f desktop and upgraded to Windows 10 from 7. My old Dell Monitor had a native res. of 1680 x 1050, that res. was supported in Windows 7 but the Windows 10 “Basic Display Adapter” does not support that res.. So, I just installed a new Lenovo T22 monitor with native res. of 1920 X 1080. This monitor is wire connected to my desktop, but screen res of 1080 is not available. I tried to update the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver in Device Mgr. , and I tried Windows Update … msg says “I’m up to date” and I get a msg stating “Windows has determined the best driver for this device is already installed”. HP does not make driver for my old 2010 desktop. I tried to add a device my Monitor in Windows 10, but cannot do it. Under device Mgr./ Monitors, it says I have a “Generic Non PnP monitor”; I tried driver update .. nothing. Please tell me what to do to get a driver to support my new Lenovo monitor with 1920x1080 res. Thanks. Richard

    :)

    New monitor suggestions, £200 budget

So I am getting (hopefully) £200 of amazon vouchers from work for Christmaqs and have decided I want to get a new monitor, my current is a 23" Samsung Syncmaster, I believe it's a TN panel and the res is 2048x1152. It really is starting to get on my nerves as the coloring is not very natural so I am thinking an IPS panel would probably be a lot better quality wise so I am open to some suggestions as I really don't have a clue when it comes to monitors.

    Things to note:

    • I do not want to go smaller than 24"
    • Would prefer 27" if possible for the budget
    • If not then perhaps 24" 120hz
    • I currently run 2048x 1152 though 1920 x 1080 is fine
    • Must come in at or around £200-£250 absolute max

4k monitor VS 1080 monitor issues

I have been using a 1080 144hz monitor for gaming for the past 6 months now and have been playing overwatch at 60frames CONSTANTLY (never any dips). I recently decided to get a second monitor that was 4k and 60hz. Upon setting it up and running overwatch,
i noticed thatupon entering a game, i received less than 30fps per game. The settings were not touched on neither overwatch NOR my 4k monitor. I'm confused as to how it runs slower on my newer, more expensive monitor. The overwatch settings were still 1080
settings and the game was still in full screen (as to how it was on my other monitor). I'm curious as to why overwatch runs slower on my 4k monitor compared to my 1080 monitor. Both are ASUS branded running windows 10 (i even played a game on my 1080 monitor
just to see if it was my computer but it seemed to be the game) Any idea as to why? Are my settings not fit for the monitor? i know it's not completely windows related however I'm a bit new at building PC's so i was wondering why this might happen.
