Windows 10: Need good driver for Realtek Card Reader older Gateway NV52L

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_06981025 Realtek Card Reader

Windows 10 blocking the last "good" driver provided by Gateway for 64-bit Windows 8.1
Doing the usual quick searches I cannot find an alternative.
Anyone of you been down this road? Help appreciated mucho!

Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader


I've just upgraded to Windows 10 on my Dell laptop and I've been having problems with the Realtek card reader - see Realtek Card Reader Keeps Disappearing . You might find some tips in that link.

My card reader is listed under memory devices in Device Manager.

As I was uninstalling unwanted programs and, I removed research Realtek card reader, and only later discovered has something to do with making USBs work. So I want it back. If I try to simply download and install the current version, an error message results.

The page from which I downloaded realtek card reader is: Realtek Card Reader Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit), 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit), 8 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Lenovo V490u, ThinkPad Edge E130, E135, T430u, X131e - FR

Details about my version of Windows 10:

- Version: 1067

- OS Build: 14393.2068

Details about USB contrllers in my computer:

- Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller

-Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Detection Driver (USB)

- Unknown USB (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

(I guess that's the one affected by removing Realtek card reader)

- USB Hub (xHCI)
