Windows 10: Need Help! Installing new harddrive into labtop, need steps and tips!

I bought a expensive labtop from ebay that I am pretty sure it has space for 2nd hard drive, I bought 1gb ssd and I want install it as a primary harddrive so it has better startup boot time and faster speeds for moving large files around (3D designing). Now I heard if I install a new primary hard drive, that I need to install windows 10 pro again. I didn't get a product code with it ( I can't seem to find it on the physical labtop). So here is my questions, and feel free to give any advise to me.



1)What is easiest way to find product key from labtop?

2)Can I use a USB stick to restall windows 10 pro on the labtop after adding a hard drive (clean install), or do I need a CD?

3)How can I setup up the new hard drive as the primary harddrive so I can take advantage of faster boot up times?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
