Windows 10: Need help retrieving BitLocker recovery key

I powered in my computer and got a screen saying that I need to enter a Bitlocker recovery key which I would get by logging onto my Microsoft account. When I tried to log onto the personal one that is attached to my laptop I’m getting a screen that says something went wrong and to try again I did, multiple times. I’m currently using my school MS account to post this via my cell phone. How do I get resolve this? I need my computer for class….

Bitlocker recovery key retrieval - Help!

My Dell G3 series laptop got ruined as it got coffee all over it but thankfully my hard drive is readable still. I cannot afford to lose that data, its my 3 years of work. Whenever my hard disk is detected, it is asking me for a 48-bit bitlocker key which I never remember setting up. No one is able to help me however i was to able to retrieve the numerical password from cmd for my drive which is known as the "bitlocker identifier". If I provide that to you, will you be able to help me in this situation in unlocking my hard drive? I am unable to do anything over here. Kindly suggest. I logged into my 3 existing Microsoft accounts as well, just in case to check if any key is stored, unfortunately, no recovery keys in any of the accounts. Kindly help me. Thanks

We understand your concern as the PC is locked with BitLocker and you are unable to retrieve the BitLocker Recovery key from your Microsoft account.



In this situation, we would first suggest you to set the PC to default BIOS settings.



If you still get the option for BitLocker recovery key, then we would suggest you to refer the below article for managing the security info on your Microsoft account and later retrieve the recovery key.
