Windows 10: Need help updating from build 10130

Hello !

I've been trying to update from this build in the past week, but without any luck. No matter what I did, it just didn't give me that update. I used to be on the slow route, didn't receive it, I switched to then fast route, I didn't receive it.

Given that those things happened, I downloaded the iso for the 10162 version, planning to do a clean install, but as I know right now, Windows no longer distributes those iso files, so I'm not sure if I should do the clean install or not.

Anyway, I noticed that the "advanced" section of the update screen changed. This is how it looks now.

"TH1" is the one being selected, and it says "The selected branch is not set to receive new builds. Now what every normal person would do in that situation is select the "fbl_impressive" branch, and that's what I did. This now lets me select the route I want, fast or slow, but no matter what I choose, if I hit back and hit advanced again, "TH1" is selected again, and again it says "The selected branch is not set to receive new builds".

What should I do ? Should I try to use the 10162 iso ? I also want to state that I have another PC which is successfully updated to 10162 via windows update.

Unable to update FROM Windows 10 Build 10130

I can not update from build 10130 to the latest?

Build 10130 is obsolete and no longer available. The Insiders got Build 10130 a few months ago. The product keys needed to activate it have been withdrawn and are now blocked on Microsoft's servers.

Are you collecting builds? If so, ask in the Windows Insider Forum. Build 10130 expires on October 1st anyway. Here is a table of the Preview builds.

 

I have the same issue, cannot download any newer build since build 10130.


I have KB3070677 installed, but no new Win 10 TP build found by WU (yes, I'm on 10130, still).
Clean up C:\windows\softwaredistribution didn't fixed it.
Reactivating with another product id doesn't solved it either.
I'm logged in with a verified MS account.
PIN change and forgot PIN .. no go.


If anyone have suggestions? I'm all ears.


But you have downloaded build 10162. You can do an in-place upgrade. Just double click the ISO file (this will mount the ISO) and start setup.exe

I don't have build 10162 downloaded. Unfortunately, downloading the latest ISO isn't possible anymore.

 

Well, thanks for the reply, but it's actually a bit too late. I ran out of patience and tried to install the newer build on a new partition. It lead to an error and as a result "No operating system was detected". After that I even had trouble booting from USB. Ended up cleaning my drive and trying a clean install on the entire drive. That same error pops up and I can't even get passed the partition selection screen during the install. Well, I guess that's it. I'll have to wait for the full release in order to install windows 10 again on my other PC ... :\
BUMMER
Never did the "in-place" install.
BUT. My mom's PC is still blocked on the 10130 build, and as things are for her, I can't afford to mess up her windows installation, even if that means she sticks to 10130 'till full release. Not sure if I should try it there or not.
